About Growing Hope

Who we are, what we publish, and why every book here is shorter than you expect.

PI

Growing Hope began with a mismatch I kept noticing. The books written for people going through something difficult tend to be long, demanding and full of programmes — written as though the reader arrives rested and organised.

But the week you most need that help is the week you have least capacity for it. A three-hundred-page programme becomes one more thing you are behind on.

So everything here is short, plainly written, and ends each chapter with something small you could actually do next. That is the whole editorial policy.

What we publish

Growing Hope writes and sells short ebooks on resilience, habits, attention, work, relationships and money — the ordinary difficulties that do not warrant a specialist but still have to be lived through.

Every title is a single payment, delivered immediately, and comes with both file formats — PDF and EPUB — at no extra cost.

How we choose a subject

We start from the difficulties that keep recurring and rarely get written about plainly: getting through a morning that has already gone wrong, holding a habit after the motivation has gone, saying one difficult sentence to someone and then holding it, opening a banking app you have been avoiding.

If a subject is already well covered by something free and good, we leave it alone.

What these books are not

Nothing we publish is therapy, medical advice, or a substitute for professional help. If what you are facing is serious or persistent, please speak to a doctor or a qualified therapist. We say this inside the books as well, and we would rather lose a sale than be mistaken for something we are not.

How we write

Three rules shape every manuscript.

  • No filler. A chapter that does not help you decide or do something comes out at the edit, even if that leaves a thinner book.
  • No promises we cannot keep. No book here claims to cure anything. What it offers is a next step, which on some days is the entire requirement.
  • The next step is always stated. By the end of a chapter you should know what to do before opening the next one.

What guides us

Four things we take seriously

Short enough to finish

We would rather publish a hundred pages that get read than three hundred that stall at chapter three.

Honest about what you are buying

Open contents list, stated level, visible specification. You decide with information rather than expectation.

Plain language

Jargon only appears when it genuinely earns its place — and when it does, it gets explained the first time.

Honest about the limits

We say plainly what a book can and cannot do, and when the right move is to talk to someone qualified instead.
